Trumping evil - hope wins!

Despite the media and the entire left's bloodthirsty quest to sabotage the Donald Trump campaign, Trump's supporters prevailed to take our country back last night. Thanks be to God! Among many other things, Trump's victory snatched from the jaws of evil the likelihood of continued corruption and abuse of power, division & class warfare, recklessly open borders, the loss of America's sovereignty, a stacked, leftist Supreme Court, and the ungodly, unbarricaded pursuit of abortion on demand at all stages of pregnancy.

There is not much to say right now except that evil was largely "Trumped" last night.  Of course, not all evil. Colorado, for instance, passed its assisted suicide ballot measure, and we do have to hold President-elect Donald Trump and all Republicans to their word to make America great again by reducing evils like ISIS, taxpayer-funded abortion, and the like.

But the bottom line is that, with the election of Donald Trump, we still have work to do, but we have been given a chance, a safer context within which to do the work we must continue to do to ensure that conservative principles, values and common sense can once again lead America in the right direction. In other words, last night we were given the thing that President Obama promised, but failed to deliver: we were given hope.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!

  1. Well said, Julie, and thanks for all of your efforts! Don’t ever think that people don’t read and share the great info that you routinely post, or that it doesn’t make an impact. We just saw that it does. God bless you! At minimum the Trump victory will move our judiciary, and the Supreme Court in particular, further to the right, and we’ll see the benefits of that for many years to come. Like many other conservatives, I’m red-eyed today but also very happy.

    1. Thank you, Paul, I appreciate that...and thank you also for your efforts! Your piece in the Source a few weeks ago was fantastic (my column didn't make it in, so I used it as one of my blog posts instead, but am grateful for any opportunity to help spread the word). Between efforts like yours and lots and lots of prayers, we did it! At least to the extent that one major hurdle - another Clinton presidency - has been cleared. I am so grateful and hopeful. Thanks again very much. God bless you and enjoy this beautiful day!

  2. Reflecting on the last few days I allowed myself to look to the future and ponder what Jan 20, 2017 will mean for America. It will mean there will be a United States president that will appoint Supreme Court Justices that believe there truly is a right to life for all people including the unborn. A future Supreme Court that will interpret the US Constitution rather than creating socially engineered legislation from the bench. It will mean the removal of a community organizer who had the disgusting gull too unabashedly thank God for Planned Parenthood and replace him with a president who despite his human frailties still had the courage to openly express his opposition to the horrendous practice of partial birth abortion and call a baby a baby. I look forward to a president who believes in religious freedom where you are not bullied to go against your religious principles in the guise of purported health care. It will mean the repeal and replacement of The Unaffordable Care Act which we were told had to be passed before you could find out what was in it. On that day we will have a government that will work to secure the borders and eliminate the notion that illegal & legal immigration are somehow equated as the same thing. There will be an administration that will not only recognize radical Islamic terrorism for what it is but will actually be able to say the words. On that day I look forward to the rule of law whereby we may allow our law enforcement to actually stop thugs and rioters (“peaceful” protestors as described by the mainstream media) who seem to think it is their right to burn and destroy property, obstruct the freedoms of the citizenry, and threaten the communities as they see fit. On that very Friday we will swear in a vice president that is a God fearing, Pro-Life defending, humble man unlike the current vice president who is personally ‘opposed” to abortion, but will hypocritically embrace the governmental mechanisms that kill the unborn all for his own political prestige. Yes, this is the type of hope and change I am looking forward to on Jan 20, 2017. More than mere words in a song. God truly has blessed America! Thanks for everything Julie. Take care and God Bless you!

    1. So very well said, Ed, thank you! Your comments belong as an actual blog post! Did you see the video of the mom kicking out her 7 year-old son for voting for Trump in a mock election at his school? It epitomizes the "tolerance and love" of the left. It is unbelievable. I have no way of knowing if Trump will do all he says he will, but at least I can agree with what he is saying, unlike Hillary who promised destruction in essence. Thanks for posting and God bless you, too!

    2. Julie,

I just checked out the video you referenced. It is really sad to see that type of abuse on a child. What was that mother thinking? I wonder the same thing about these anti-Trump “protestors” that are getting news coverage every day now. Why not the same type of news coverage when much larger groups of pro-lifers are out protesting Planned Parenthood? And I agree 100% with you in regards to Donald Trump. We know he has some baggage, but the alternative was not even a consideration. I have a genuine hope that he will surround himself with good people and if we pray to God for the clarity his administration will need our country will be better for it. I attended a local pro-life event a few months back where Fr. Pavone was the guest speaker. He had such a strong and clear message in defense of the unborn and what this election was really about. Not surprisingly they were the type of unabashed arguments you have been giving for some time now. I really do appreciate all that you do in presenting the truth. You are at times on the receiving end of slings and arrows, but you don’t let it bring you down. That says a lot about the kind of strong woman you are. And I have to apologize for the rather lengthy previous post (and now this one it appears). If this is not proper blog etiquette don’t hesitate to let me know. Don’t worry you won’t hurt my feelings.-:) Sometimes I don’t realize how lengthy my messages can get until I see them in print so to speak. Take care.

    3. Hi Ed,
I think we may have been at the same Fr. Pavone event (at the SMC in Troy?) It was a great and inspirational talk to be sure. Thanks so much for your kind words. I knew going into all of this (for what little "all of this" is that I contribute) that there would be the naysayers. But I know it's a sign that we are being heard, even if hated for it, and I know God gives us the strength to bear anything in His name. But having support from people like you sure does help:-) And by the way, absolutely no need for any apology! My hope is that my simple, humble blog could be a forum for sharing thoughts, no matter the length. Besides, I absolutely appreciate and value what you write. So please, by all means, continue. I value the insights I gain from you and I thank you. And trust me, as you know from my blog posts and columns, I don't exactly embrace brevity :-) Enjoy the rest of your day and thanks again!

  3. Julie, you have voiced my sentiments exactly!

I am appalled at the hate that continues to be shown from leftists. I expect we will see this for the next four years. But the likelihood is that there will be new SCOTUS appointees during that time frame who will reverse what has become very dangerous direction in which America has been headed. For the first time in eight years, I see some hope!

    1. Thank you, James -- I feel hope too for the first time in eight years! I remember many people feeling a bit sick when Obama was elected the second time, but I don't recall any protests, and certainly no violence. So much for the "tolerance" of the left, right? It would be good to get some leadership from our current "leaders" to try to quell the anxiety. I understand how it feels when "your guy" doesn't win, but we also need to be mindful of the blessing of living in a country that allows for fair, constitutional elections, whether we agree with the outcome or not. Thanks for reading my blog and for your comments! Have a great day.
