An interesting picture of nationwide election results by county

I realize the election is over, President Obama won, and we need to move on, but I am perplexed by something. I know how the electoral college works and why it is important, and I realize that certain areas are much more densely populated than others. But looking at the map below of the county results across the nation - the red representing all the counties that Romney won - it seems amazing that Obama won. Rest assured, this is not sour grapes, just thought it was interesting from a strictly visual perspective.

If the picture is not showing up on your screen, please take a second to go to this link (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/politics/election-map-2012/president/)  - and on the left side of the page under "State results", click on "County results".

  1. Would you please get this map on MSNBC and go toe-to-toe with Rachel Maddow?

  2. I think you already answered your own question - population density.

  3. Julie's point is excellent. Did you know that Obama received 108% of the vote in Ohio. Yes, 108%. He received over 99% of the vote in districts where GOP inspectors were illegally removed. Next, he won 100% of the vote in 21 districts in Cleveland. And then he won the majority of Wood County’s registered voters. In 2012, 106,258 people in Wood County are registered to vote out of an eligible 98,213. Voter fraud anyone?

    1. Where are you getting your numbers? I'm not finding anything that says Obama got 90-100% of the vote in any of Ohio's counties and in Wood County, only about 31,500 people voted for Obama and 29,000 for Romney. That's only about 2/3 of the 98, 213 you gave.

I got my numbers from: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/elections/2012-ohio-state-race

    2. I think this is a reference to two counties in Ohio having more registered voters than the number of voting-age individuals. It means that Ohio is not always good at clearing its registration databases.

I'll repeat that - just because there are more registered voters does not mean that those registrations were used for voter fraud.

There isn't any evidence to say that it has affected the vote in any way; it's old news from September.

Even if Obama hadn't won Ohio, he still has a substantial lead in the electoral college.

  4. Voters in early voting in three states that we know of - Ohio, NC and NV all reported electronic-machine "glitches" where votes for Romney were defaulting votes to Obama - and then were not subtracted from Obama once the problem was reported. And Patrick Moran, son of Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA), was recently caught on tape facilitating vote fraud and in Bridgeport, CT mayor Bill Finch essentially promised to do the same.

Since then, the indications of electoral fraud have been all around us. For instance, why were the court-appointed Republican poll watchers illegally expelled from 13 Philadelphia polling places in wards that, in most cases, went 99 percent for Obama? The poll observers noted incidents of voter fraud but were powerless to stop it - they were kicked out. Some even reported there were Democrats who actually bragged about voting more than once.

Then there are the undeniable statistics: in 59 Philadelphia districts, Romney failed to get even one vote. Does anyone really believe that Romney didn't get one vote? Even in liberal Hollywood and NY Romney got votes...but not one in 59 districts? In CO there were more votes cast than registered voters - regardless of who those extra votes went to...how is it that this could happen in the first place. Who's casting the votes? And why do Dems have a hissy fit at the mere suggestion that we should ask a voter for id to prove they are who they say they are. Anyone who cashes a check, obtains food stamps, seeks welfare, etc., is required to have some sort of state-issued id so to say asking for id to vote would suppress the impoversished and minority votes is nonsense - and obvious that they just don't want their fraudsters to be prevented from voting illegally.

Also consider that Obama "won" Ohio by 100,000 votes. This means that to flip the state, Democrat fraudsters had to illegally "activate" only 6.25 percent of its 1.6 million inactive voters. Not hard to do.

And when states like Florida wanted to purge ineligible voters from the rolls - meaning people who moved out of the state, were convicted of felonies, or who had died - the DoJ's Eric Holder threatened to sue those states from cleaning up their voter registrations. Why would cleaning up registration rolls be a problem for Holder unless he had some ulterior motive for keeping all those ineligible people on?

In Michigan thousands of absentee ballots were sent out in Auburn Hills and Roseville. Not ONE person received their ballot. Who intercepted the ballots, and what did they do with them?

Worst of all is the missing military ballots. Not only have active military filed complaints that they either never received their ballots or the ones they sent in were returned, the conservative-leaning military vote has decreased drastically since 2010 due to the so-called Military Voter Protection Act that was enacted into law the year before which has made it so difficult for overseas military personnel to obtain absentee ballots that in Virginia and Ohio there has been a 70% decrease in requests for ballots since 2008. In Virginia, almost 30,000 fewer overseas military voters requested ballots than in 2008. In Ohio, more than 20,000 fewer overseas military voters requested ballots. This is significant considering Obama won in both states by a little over 100,000 votes.

Frankly, it is inconceivable that military interest in voting could've dropped so drastically given conservatives' passion this election season. It seems the Obama team is fine with our soldiers dying for us, but not okay with their right to vote.

Even liberal Chris Matthews himself admitted that fraud is going on. People, defend Obama all you want, but the writing is on the wall if you would just be willing to deal with it.
